Shopping List ~ Prior to Moving In:
Washing Machine Hook-up Hoses - Stainless steel wire mess reinforced.  Less than $20 at most hardware stores.
Electric Dryer Plug & Cord Kit - These 240 volt outlets recently changed from 3 prong to 4 prong.  Check your dryer and check the inspection report in the Laundry/Clothes dryer.  Kits are usually less than $15 at most hardware stores.
Fire Extinguishers - 3 recommended - one for the garage, one near the kitchen and one in the basement.
CO Carbon Monoxide Detector - Digital readout model is recommended.  Less than $40 at most hardware stores.
   

" To - Do" List ~ Just after moving in:
Have the locks changed.  Typically $60-$100.
Re-Program the Garage Door Openers and keypad codes.
Change batteries and test all Smoke Detectors.
Discuss emergency exits with family members.
   

Service & Maintenance List:
Check sprinkler system operation.  (in summer)
Check that outdoor plumbing is shut-off.   (in winter)
Check downspouts & overall water drainage away from house.
Furnace Service / Tune Up - Typically $125 - $150
Chimney Cleaning & Inspection - Typically $50 - $100
Central Air Conditioning Service / Tune up - Typically $125 - $150
